FITS Uganda is a community based organization (CBO) founded in 2010 and registered as an indigenous non for profit organization in 2015. It operates in Kigezi Sub region of Uganda and envisions towards sustainable agriculture, food and nutrition security and natural resource management. It was founded with mandates focused on mobilizing and empowering local communities to carry out activities in areas of; enhancing food and Nutrition security, ensuring profitable income generation through sustainable agriculture as well as environmental protection.
FITS Uganda promotes agro forestry, soil and water conservation, sustainable agriculture practices for increased food security and incomes to the majority rural communities where it operates from. Since its inception in 2010, FITS Uganda strategic actions have been directed at improving the lives of the poor, vulnerable and marginalized through community empowerment and provision of material and technical support through a multi-program approach in areas of sustainable agriculture and natural resources management.
The organization has an advisory board composed of 7 members that decides on its strategic direction and takes decisions on organization policies and makes assessment of project implementation, achievements and plans for expansion. It approves budget plans and financial reports and audits and takes on contract agreement decisions.

skilling gap for the vulnerable.
The organization aims to strengthen local community resilience against risks and stresses by empowering them to achieve sustainable livelihoods, secure nutritious food systems, generate income sustainably through agriculture, promote ecotourism, protect the environment, and ensure access to clean water.

Since its inception, FITS Uganda has been focused on improving the lives of the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized by providing customized solutions in agriculture, food and nutrition, ecotourism, and sustainable natural resource utilization.
